Tips for Educators
  1. Use the score reports to provide educational counseling to residents, develop curricula, and validate the need for planned curricular changes. View the percentage of questions answered correctly by each examinee and their percentile rank. Review each resident’s list of structured educational objectives associated with incorrectly answered questions to develop personalized learning plans.
  2. Register residents at all postgraduate training years to sit for the exam to improve test-taking skills and track learning progress longitudinally. Faculty can also participate to identify their own learning gaps.
  3. Residents with MKSAP subscriptions can import their IM-ITE scores to their MKSAP 19 Digital dashboard to add to their learning plan (available Fall 2022).

  1. Access the free MKSAP Residency Tracker feature to monitor progress at both the program and individual level. Develop individualized learning plans and assign questions to provide targeted guidance and feedback.
  2. Flip the classroom! Assign a custom quiz or group of questions to your residents before a small-group learning session, and ask them to identify questions they struggled with or want to discuss in more detail at their session.
  3. Review residents’ responses to individual questions to identify potential learning gaps and areas of confusion on important content areas.
  4. Begin your resident report with a MKSAP question related to one of your cases to actively engage learners in the subject matter.
  5. Use MKSAP to update your own knowledge, earn CME credit and MOC points, and prepare for the 10-year ABIM MOC exam or the Longitudinal Knowledge Assessment.
  6. Enjoy a discount on bulk purchases for your residents.
