This year leaders from all of ACP’s 85 chapters brought members together to engage in new professional development activities and personal well-being opportunities.

The Chapter Excellence Award serves as a guide to reach basic expectations in chapter management and inspires chapters through a tiered reward system to achieve excellence. In 2022, ACP’s fourth year of using the tiered award system, there were 82 award recipients. In total, there were 48 Gold Level Chapters, 14 Silver Level Chapters, and 20 Bronze Level Chapters. The Alabama, Bangladesh, Florida, India, and Japan chapters had notably advanced to a higher tier.

ACP’s global reach includes more than 23,000 members in 159 countries and 17 international chapters. This year, the ACP Global Ambassadors Program included 23 leaders, FACPs, and MACPs participating in 16 global internal medicine virtual and in-person meetings.

• Four awardees were recognized during Internal Medicine Meeting 2023 as part of ACP's Global Physician Scholar Program. The College’s Global Physician Scholar Program provides opportunities for early and mid-career internal medicine physicians from outside the United States to participate in a one-month observership to enhance their expertise related to the prevention, diagnosis, and/or management of clinical issues.
• A new national ACP Inspirational Global Member Award was created to recognize the distinguished achievements of an ACP global member.
